Project goals
Molecular analysis of alcohol-preserved shrimp specimens from the Arctic for taxonomic revision and estimate of time of divergence between populations.
Results (Ongoing)
We have already obtained information on the genetic structure of Spirontocaris. We caught some Heptacarpus from California during a visit there and thus now have material of all four genera of the northern Thoridae, enough, if we are successful, at least to see if these 4 genera are more closely related to each other than to other genera that have a similar body structure.
